January 6, 2005 This is a juniper tree on our property. It is a type of evergreen so it has needles rather than leaves ... with close-ups.

A different type of evergreen - a pine tree - near where I work. Yes, the needles are uncomfortable to the touch, though not as sharp as a sewing needle or cactus.


The first pic taken from our front yard is our neighbor's ice-covered trees. The others are ones I saw on the way to work. The white is not leaves, but ice clinging to the branches.

January 15-16, 2005 These are trees on a golf course. There was heavy cloud cover early in the day.

These were taken from the vehicle as we traveled. The heavy snow and ice is pulling down the branches even on large, leafless trees. These were taken about 20 minutes later as the cloud cover began to lift.


A lacey-looking, leafless tree, and a couple views of how heavy the wet snow was as it pulls down the branches on a small pine tree.
